DADI KERAWALA - DISCIPLE OF MEHER BABA AND TRUSTEE OF AMBPPCT - AHMEDNAGAR

Dear All,

Dadi Keralwala, Trustee of Avatar Meher Baba PPC Trust, Ahmednagar, and long time disciple of Meher Baba, joined Baba on 29/09/2005 at Pune, and was cremated at Meherabad on 30/09/2005. He was old, may be above 75 and ill for some time.

Sam Kerawala's elder brother Dadi was unmarried, and was a cheerful spot at Meherabad. Retired as a responsible officer of the Forest Department, Dadi looked after the plantation work around Samadhi. Those who knew him, I am sure will remember his sweet smile and loving personality.

Subject: [Tavern-Talk] Dadi rejoins his Beloved

Just after 5 a.m., Sunday morning, September 30th 2005, Avatar Meher
Baba's dear Dr. Dadi Kerawala rejoined his Beloved. Dadi passed away
in Poona after a lengthy illness.

One of Baba's close followers, Dadi was born into a family of Baba's devoted disciples and spent part of his childhood in Baba's ashram. His life of service to Baba included cultivating Baba's property in Mandla under His orders, and hosting Beloved Baba's summer stays at Ganeshkind, the garden (a government agriculture experimental station) of which Dadi was head.

Dadi was a trustee of the Avatar Meher Baba Trust for thirty years,. As trustee and Meherabad resident, he continued to serve Baba, beautifying Meherabad with orchards of all kinds. Despite the great weakness and debility brought on by his last illness, Dadi continued to work on a design for a garden around the proposed Memorial Tower for Meherabad until the very end. His great heart, honest nature, silent service and deep humility will be greatly missed by all Meherabad and Meherazad family.

Jai Baba dear Dadi! As your cousin Eruch would say, "You have won the race!"

Avatar Meher Baba ki Jai!!!

DARWIN SHAW ALSO JOINS BABA.

Bob Ahrens has just informed me that Darwin Shaw, long time pillar of Myrtle Beach, passed away in Baba's loving embrace this morning. Jai Baba, dear Darwin!

Darwin first met Meher Baba in the 1930s. He was one of the earliest followers of Meher Baba in the West. Here is a short story from Darwin about his Inner Relationship with Baba --

"Under Meher Baba's directions our family moved down to Myrtle Beach to look after the Meher Center on the Lakes and Elizabeth's house in town while Elizabeth and Norina were in India. We were there for one year, from Sept. 12, 1948, to Sept. 12, 1949.

"During our stay in Myrtle Beach, I was very busy with many activities at the Center, but nearly every day I would find time to go to the beautiful location where Baba's house was to be built and spend a few moments looking out over the lake and toward the ocean beyond, trying to tune in to Beloved Baba in far off India.

"During those precious moments I felt a special rapport with Baba. It seemed as though He was aware of my reaching out to Him, from the heart, and was lovingly responding with His presence. Sometimes, when thinking about those moments with Baba, I would wonder if it was really as it seemed to be, or if it was just my imagination.

"About a year and a half later, in 1952, when Baba was at the Center, He gave me the answer. One day He had our family get into the station wagon with Him, near the kitchen, and He then directed Adi to drive us up along the lake to His house. As we got out of the station wagon, Baba pointed to the view and we said, 'Yes, Baba, it's a beautiful view.'

"Then He quickly walked over to the steps at the porch entrance to the house and walked up the steps, turning around as He reached the little platform at the top He snapped His fingers to catch my attention and as I looked at Him, He raised His right arm, bending it at the elbow, with His index finger extended. Then, as He slowly lowered His arm, He looked at me with an expression which seemed to ask, 'Do you get it?'

"I caught His thought immediately and exclaimed, 'Why Baba you are reminding me of how I used to come here and think of you!' He nodded affirmatively and motioning us to follow Him, led us into His house.

"Thus Baba confirmed that our inner relationship with Him is a valid one and not just our imagination."
