Hamirpur (Uttar Pradesh)

14th July 1961

Dear Brother Amiya,

I received your poem along with your letter. There is always a passport for your writings as well as dear Bhatnagar and Rajani's writings in Meher Pukar because from the hearts of this trinity such a deep feeling flows out that really does not need any passport. But here I have a complaint to make, and that is that of this gang of three [the word used is the one usually used to describe Shiva, Vishnu, Brahma], two -- Bhatnagar and Rajani -- have become inactive and have entered into the state of samadhi, and I am unable to wake them up even when I pinch them. You please request them on my behalf that they should stir up and during this period of Baba's seclusion use Meher Pukar to stir up Baba lovers in their turn.

I was glad to know that sister Sumona is your sister. We had received a letter from her from Gaya1 requesting that I enter her as a subscriber to Meher Pukar and in that letter she also mentioned you. We have been sending Meher Pukar [individual copies] to her for quite some time.

I have noted with joy that you all are giving me an opportunity to go to Jabalpur in the near future 2. Maybe that has made me feel a great attraction for Jabalpur and it is getting stronger. During the 9 -- 10 July silence day, Jabalpur was time and again coming to my mind with great intensity. I will definitely go to Jabalpur but it will be more convenient if the programme is fixed the second half of any month because in the first half the publication of Meher Pukar takes place and Meher Pukar keeps dancing on my head all the time. If you make the programme in the first half of the month then kindly give me an intimation at least 15 to 20 days early so that I can make adequate arrangements [for publication].

During these six months, I have been trying to encourage my companions to go to far off places and carry Baba's love to the people all around. However, it all depends on Baba's grace to see my efforts bear fruits.3

At present I feel that it is obligatory on our part to go on working constantly and more and more intensely for Baba. This is not the time to sleep. When Baba breaks His silence, automatically we would be needed to work for Him and spread His love all around.

Please give my loving salutations to Matajee

Always lovingly your,

Keshav Narayan Nigam

1. Place in the state of Bihar -- her husband was working on the construction of the power substation there

2. Amiya: "they had asked him to come as a guest, and he gave a beautiful speech that helped a lot of people to come to Baba at that time."

3. Amiya remarks that Baba's old lovers like Pukar, Keshav Babu and Deshmukh had great sense of humor and showed him how to take disappointments lightly.
