Meherazad

4th July 1964

Dear Amiya,

We received your letter of 30th June, and Baba felt very happy to hear this letter. I have no objection if you want to publish my letter to you in Meher Pukar, but I would like it better if you do not send it for publication there, because I have not written it from the point of view of publication. Even then, if it is your desire to do so, you can again send me a letter of the type you sent me at Poona, and keep a copy of that letter with you. Then you send me back my letter and I will again make a reply to you. And then you can send your letter and my reply both to Keshav Babu so that the letter and its reference and context will be understood by the reader.

Mehernandini is very dear to Baba because after her arrival in your home, you and Gauri came closer and your quarrels were lessened, and Baba felt peace. Even then, if you want Baba's kiss for yourself, then Baba is now sending His love-filled kiss to you1 , to Sister Gauri, to Matajee and of course to His dear Mehernandini.

Jai Baba

Affectionately,

Bhau

1. Note added by Amiya in reference to the language "Baba sends His love-filled kiss to His own dear Mehernandini" in every letter they were receiving at this time. Amiya says, laughing, "We were dying to have His kiss, you know. Every time, He was sending it to Mehernandini and not to us. So we wrote about this to Him."
