16th May 1965

Dear Amiya,

Your letter of 12th May was received here, but because reading out anyone's letters to Baba was totally stopped by Him, we could not read out to Him.

I felt happy to know that the incident that took place in the afternoon of 6th May1 did not have any adverse impression on you2. It is exactly this kind of thing that is expected and one should be unimpressed with any outward matters. Because what really matters is one's relationship with Baba, and when one's relationship is intact with Baba, nothing external can ever alter the link and the bond.

Please give my Jai Baba to Matajee, to Gauri and receive it yourself, and give my love to Mehernandini, Affectionately yours,

Bhau

1. Amiya "I can't remember what happened on 6th May. Perhaps some other group got Baba's darshan before we did, [and Bhau may think I'm holding it against him.]. I didn't mind waiting. I told our group of 150 or 160 people, 'why do you worry about it? Baba is so near you, you are just inside the pandal, He is sitting there, don't you feel that He is really near you?' and then there was a very good darshan program for Jabalpur group."

2. Bhau used to say, "I am just an ordinary man who has many weaknesses in him. Therefore you should take me to be an ordinary man and hold bond of friendship with me on that level, so that on the level of equality we should be able to forge a friendship still stronger, and therefore I would be able to take care of all the duties I have."
